After five straight years of sold-out devastation, MELBOURNE DETHFEST returns in 2027 with its most colossal edition yet. Australia's premier extreme metal festival will descend upon The Croxton, Thornbury for the first time, transforming the venue into a two-stage, all-day celebration of everything heavy, brutal and uncompromising.
Leading the charge are none other than Swedish death metal titans BLOODBATH, making their long-awaited return to Australia to headline an absolutely monstrous lineup. With three international artists set to appear alongside the country's finest extreme metal acts, Melbourne Dethfest 2027 promises the biggest lineup, biggest production and biggest day of underground metal the festival has ever assembled.
In 2027, the Melbourne Dethfest line includes the return of three other huge names including Stalker (New Zealand), Nervochaos (Brasil) and Fxck I’m Dead (Victoria).
They will be joined by Ashen (Perth), In Malice’s Wake, Writhing & Trepacide for a sold day of extreme metal impurity in Thornbury at our new home for Melbourne Dethfest – The Croxton, Thornbury.
What began in 2022 as a passion-fuelled celebration of Australia's extreme music scene has rapidly become a national institution, selling out every single year while earning a reputation as one of the country's must-attend heavy music events. Across its first five editions, Melbourne Dethfest has welcomed legendary names including Exhumed, Rotting Christ, Jungle Rot, Left To Die and Allegaeon, while sharing the stage with Australia's elite, including King Parrot, Disentomb, Abramelin, KING, Anoxia, Munitions, Golgothan Remains, Stargazer, Denouncement Pyre, Faceless Burial, Mammons Throne, Carcinoid and countless other pillars of the underground. Every year the festival has grown bigger, louder and more uncompromising—and 2027 marks the next evolution.
