‘Something Spiritual’ - New Music Video by AHLES, Out Now!

Prog metal fans, classical nerds, death metal freaks—this one’s for you. AHLES aren’t just here to play. They’re here to fnk with the blueprint.
— Do The Fkn Review

AHLES release their first music video for the track "Something Spiritual" from their YouTube channel. "Something Spiritual" is the opening track of the debut Ahles album Between Dreams and the Waking World released on July 10. Spanish guitar stylings meet thrash and prog in a powerful exchange, documenting the self-destructive nature of humankind in this audio and visual feast.

AHLES is a progressive metal outfit from Brisbane, Australia. This quartet is the brainchild of guitarist-vocalist Ian Ahles, who has had a prolific music career in the Australian heavy metal scene over the past twenty years (Praetorian, Dragonsmead, Born From the Ashes) coupled with an academic background in classical guitar. AHLES’ lineup is completed by drummer Alix Bandiera (Born From the Ashes, Puncture Wound), and classically-trained musicians Monash Lal and Will Towne (Riverside Guitar Ensemble). With this unique line-up combining both metal and classical influences, AHLES aligns the technicality, finesse and musicanship of both styles with emotive songs. November 2024 saw AHLES’ first live appearance supporting Peru metallers HYENA, followed by the release of debut single ‘Will Nothing Grow’?

AHLES are also performing their Brisbane Album launch at The Return of Metal of Honour at The Backroom Brisbane, Friday, July 25 with The Crypt Daddies, Zagtar, Nuclearsaurus Rex and Tribute of the Beast. Tickets available through Oztix.

As Always,

Peace, Love and Grindcore, xoxo - Brady.
