FLESHCRAWL (GER) Release Video For ‘Chapel Of Guts’ Alongside New Album Epitome Of Carnage

"Finally back again, possibly Germany’s finest death metal band!" 9/10 POWERMETAL DE

"Everything from the cover art to older school production values / tones speaks volumes for Fleshcrawl’s everlasting commitment to their ways – unyielding, authentic, resolute to keep their style on the map. Long-timers have their favorites if they’ve been into Fleshcrawl since those early 90s efforts – so Epitome of Carnage won’t disappoint that following. This record could also introduce a younger generation unfamiliar with this group – and if so, they have dropped in at just the right time, as the performances, songwriting, and overall chemistry showcases a quintet not ready to throw in the towel just yet." 8.5/10 DEAD RHETORIC USA

"With "Epitome of Carnage", FLESHCRAWL delivers a focused, no-frills death metal record that balances old-school brutality with tight, experienced songwriting. Relentless pace, heavy grooves, and occasional doom-laden moments keep things varied without losing impact. A solid, forceful statement from a seasoned band still operating at full strength!"
8.5/10 HEADBANGERS AUSTRALIA

"Many veterans release solid albums these days that play through nicely and then immediately gather dust on the shelf. Epitome of Carnage, however, sticks with you. Because of its riffs. Because of its atmosphere. Because of this constant blend of frenzy and heaviness. And because not for a single second does the band try to chase any trend. FLESHCRAWL simply do exactly what they have mastered for decades — only better, more focused, and angrier than ever!"
9.5/10 – ZEPHYRS ODEM DE

FLESHCRAWL unveil a torrent of ferocious bloodshed, chaos and power in their tenth studio album, Epitome of Carnage, out now via Distortion Music Group (DMG) - Powered by Reigning Phoenix Music. Accompanying the full length release is a rampage of gloom in the new music video for ‘Chapel Of Guts’.

On ‘Chapel Of Guts’ FLESHCRAWL share, "with 'Chapel of Guts' we wanted to showcase the full spectrum of our sound. This track stands out from our more classic Swedish Death Metal tracks, making it the perfect contrast to the other singles and the album as a whole. It's a short break from the more straight-forward tracks, offering a more dark contrast."

"It digs a bit deeper into the Fleshcrawl roots, combining heavy, doomy passages with intense blast beats and a lot of dynamics. It captures that darker atmosphere we wanted to have on the record. It is Death Metal with a room to breathe and then to choke."

On the writing process the band explain, "We didn't force it into a specific direction; we just let the track develop its own flow and energy during the writing process."

A foreboding darkness awaits in ‘Chapel Of Guts’. A haunting, enveloping atmosphere swells and hurriedly subsides as the pace increases and intensity rises. As the heaviness ebbs and flows through chaos, it's ferocious brutality leaves nothing in its wake.

Arriving seven years after 2019's Into the Catacombs of Flesh, Epitome of Carnagereveals a renewed vigor and power that bleeds through the track list.

About FLESHCRAWL:

FLESHCRAWL was founded in the spring of 1987 in Illertissen, Germany, by Stefan Hanus and Bastian Herzog. Initially operating under the name Morgöth, the band adopted a markedly more extreme musical direction in 1990 and briefly performed as Suffocation. However, with the emergence of the American band of the same name and their impending vinyl debut, another name change became necessary. Thus, FLESHCRAWL was born.

Through decades of evolution, challenges, and perseverance, FLESHCRAWL has remained steadfast in its mission: delivering uncompromising, traditional death metal with authenticity, power, and unwavering conviction. In 2020, with a completely renewed and revitalized guitar lineup, the band entered the first songwriting sessions for their tenth studio album.

On June 11th, 2021, long-time vocalist Sven “Svenson” Gross passed away after a courageous battle with cancer that lasted over a year. His loss was a profound tragedy, deeply felt by his family, friends, and the entire FLESHCRAWL community. Despite this immense personal and professional blow, stepping back from their mission in death metal was never an option. The band began the search for a new voice to carry their legacy forward, and on October 15th, 2021, Borisz Sarafutgyinov was officially announced as FLESHCRAWL’s new and permanent frontman, ushering in a new chapter for the band.

Songwriting continued steadily throughout 2023, 2024, and into 2025, while the band maintained a strong live presence, performing at further renowned events such as Metal Gate Czech Deathfest, Hell over Aschaffenburg, Nice to Eat You Deathfest, Eindhoven Metal Meeting, Bucharest Deathfest, Heidelberg Metal Meeting, Braincrusher in Hell, Sick Midsummer, and the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise.

By 2025, songwriting for the successor to Into the Catacombs of Flesh (2019) was nearing completion. The band found a strong and capable new partner in Reigning Phoenix Music, securing a new label home for the release of Epitome of Carnage. In November 2025 FLESHCRAWL signed a worldwide deal with DMG.

Bio:

The Ringing Bell

The definition of the ringing bell depends on its context:

  • Idiom ("Ring a Bell"): Refers to a vague recollection. The phrase implies that a mention acts like the striking of a bell, summoning a faint memory from the back of your mind.

  • Medical/Personal Milestone: In many cancer treatment centers, a patient physically rings a wall-mounted brass bell on their final day of chemotherapy or radiation to signify the end of a difficult journey and a return to normal life.

  • Historical & Religious Signaling: For centuries, ringing bells have been used to draw attention to important events—such as the consecration during a Catholic mass, the start of a school day, the arrival of a ship, or a warning of impending danger.

  • Full-Length Album: The new album from the uncontested masters of underground metal...the American juggernaut known as FUMING MOUTH.

It seems unbelievable to reflect on everything that's happened to FUMING MOUTH in the past few years, a time in which the young quartet have emerged from their isolated homeland returning as champions to hordes of fans around the world craving for metal and hardcore at its most punishing and pulverizing.

In 2013 one man from Massachusetts, Mark Whelan, decided that he wanted to try his hand at the type of music that was slowly trickling to him through the hardcore scene. Bands like Trap Them and Nails, plus many others, had an enormous impact on Whelan, so much that Mark recorded a demo. He soon added a rhythm section but nervously set up as vocalist and frontman. FUMING MOUTH began to define the most embryonic stages of their identity. Fighting for recognition in the United States metal scene as fragmented as it was, with numerous groups all vying for some, any attention, FUMING MOUTH cut some primitive demos before landing an LP with Triple-B.

The band, crude and simplistic as it was, nonetheless made it’s way out of New England and into the hands of the worldwide underground network. Right from the start, there was something about FUMING MOUTH -- a hunger and conviction in the way they played, plus an unrelenting thirst for the ultimate in heaviness -- that attracted attention amidst constant streaming of the internet. So, when the band released their first full-length LP, The Grand Descent, it was met with great acclaim at the time, even though the band hadn't made it into major markets or the metal industry.

No, it wasn't until late 2020 during the covid pandemic lockdown that the band, armed with a new EP, suddenly stood up and shouted that they had something to say musically. Beyond the Tomb was the name of the EP, and it showcased a growth in songwriting, a confidence in playing and a maturity in style that automatically set FUMING MOUTH on course to ascend to the top of the metal and hardcore heap.

But the band's relative imprisonment in lockdown, with the LP and EP only getting out as hard-to-find presses, kept the buzz from building into a roar. Something had to happen that would elevate the band to the next plateau. Enter the always adventurous Nuclear Blast Records. The label's A&R Braintrust, who as a rabid fan had been following the band's underground progress, signed them sight unseen. At this time Whelan and their A&R, Monte Conner, could only talk on the phone. Never actually meeting in person.

Next was an even tougher job: Caner Treatment. Mark Whelan was diagnosed with AML less than a year after signing. The band had to wait as Whelan fought caner, underwent treatment, and tried to save his life.

Somehow, against the odds, he did it. Mark beat the odds, beat cancer, and returned to his band. They soon hit the studio to record Last Day of Sun in fall 2022. This was the first worldwide release from FUMING MOUTH, and it was immediately hailed as one of the most triumphant returns to death metal that ever crawled from the grave.

FUMING MOUTH had outdone themselves, honing their skills and songs to create an unbridled epic of skin-flaying riffs, piston-precise rhythms and dynamic complexities, all topped by the frustration-driven fury of Mark’s growling vocals.

In the spring and summer of 2025, with Whelan and FUMING MOUTH healthier than ever, Triple-B was compelled to release their newest outing on their own.

And now the bell rings loud. The band's third LP The Ringing Bell, (recorded at the infamous God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts by Kurt Ballou), is without a doubt, their greatest achievement yet. With Jay Weinberg on drums, Mark has once again reached inside and found the strength to better himself, refining the FUMING MOUTH style until all the elements work together to explode into some of the heaviest hardcore and metal, you'll hear this or any year. So, prepare yourself for one of the most vital, urgent, brutal musical experiences of your life. FUMING MOUTH are back with a deadly vengeance...heed the call of the bell…

THE NOCTAMBULANT (US) - Revival LP:

After five years of carving their path through the vast wastelands of extreme music, THE NOCTAMBULANT emerges once again with Revival—an album forged in primal fury, cloaked in spectral beauty, and steeped in the haunted soil of their Southern Floridian roots. Here, the choking swamps of the American South collide with the towering, icebound mountains of Scandinavia, birthing a sound that is both ancient and defiant. Drawing from the raw bloodlines of blues, rockabilly, goth rock, and American country, THE NOCTAMBULANT summons a voice that feels both cursed and timeless, breathing blackened life into the dying heart of extreme music.

The ritual begins with "Repent and Be Saved," an ominous prelude that sets the altar ablaze: dark, foreboding, and heavy with the scent of impending doom. Southern Baptist preachers howl from broken pulpits, Hammond organs wail like mourning spirits, and fire-and-brimstone sermons twist through haunted melodies, foreshadowing the spiritual rot and chaos that seep through the record's bones.

As the tension coils tighter, "Bring The Sorrow" delivers the first feral strike. It erupts with the thundercrack of a Bible slammed against wood, before contorting Psalm 91 into a grim invocation for survival. Here, faith is not salvation—it is a curse etched into blood and soil. The anguished plea, "save me Lord, from this pain of life," bleeds desperation into the album’s blackened heart, dragging the listener deeper into the mire.

The darkness festers with "Apokalypsis," a violent warning born from the whispered superstitions of forgotten places. It sings of woods that swallow men whole, of nights where even the stars refuse to shine. With its savage assault and unrelenting dread, the track blurs the line between myth and nightmare, tightening the noose as the journey spirals downward.

"Dark Dawn" exhumes the dead voices of the Carolina mines, where ancient malevolence lies just beneath the earth’s rotting skin. Miners, digging ever deeper, spoke of monstrous things clawing at the edges of Hell. The relentless pounding of the track captures the creeping horror of a land where the very ground conspires to consume the living.

Dragged further into the abyss, "Macabre" paints a soul-crushing portrait of despair. Inspired by Revelation 9:6, it offers no deliverance—only a suffocating weight, where hope rots and death is the last mercy. The whispered promise of escape fades into an endless, ghostly wail, mirroring the desolation carved into the land and the spirit.

At this nadir, "Revival Fire" flickers like a dying candle, an instrumental breath between battles. It offers no salvation—only a momentary stillness before the storm roars back to life, setting the stage for the album’s next brutal ascent.

"Skeleton Key" bursts forth, a savage hymn to transcendence. As the album’s lead single, it distills the hunger for salvation into a furious exorcism. Mortality is ripped away like a rotting shroud; through sacrifice and pain, a darker rebirth is seized. Cloaked in blackened haze and spectral fury, THE NOCTAMBULANT paint death not as an ending, but as a violent passage beyond the chains of flesh.

The reckoning continues with "Killing Tree," a cursed prayer beneath starless skies. Here stands the "Killing Tree"—a grim sentinel where betrayed souls rise to drag the living into the black depths of Hell. Fueled by wrath and haunted by ancient blood, the track twists justice into a vengeful dirge, singing the long-forgotten hymns of the damned.

The descent grows more harrowing with "Hell Ride," the album’s true heart of darkness. Smoke and fire choke the air as an unnamed preacher leads his flock—not to redemption, but into the jaws of the abyss. Hammond organs shriek like wounded spirits, sermons curdle into threats, and guitars hammer the final nails into coffins of false hope. Here, salvation is a lie, and belief is a death sentence.

The black waters rise with "San Martino," a spectral lament for a monastery swallowed by swamp and wrath. It is whispered that the faithful disturbed something ancient—and the price was paid in blood. Cloaked in mist and decay, the track blurs the boundary between legend and horror, paying tribute to the relentless spirits that haunt the Southern wilds.

Finally, the journey concludes with "Red Right Hand," a brooding cover of NICK CAVE AND THE BLACK SEEDS' classic. Though it springs from a distant land, its creeping menace and shadowed pulse perfectly echo the haunted South, making it the fitting final plunge into Revival’s blackened world.

Revival is no mere collection of songs—it is a death ritual, a mythic odyssey into the heart of darkness. THE NOCTAMBULANT has conjured an offering that strips the sacred to its bloody roots, weaving primal aggression, haunted melody, and blackened fury into a testament of survival and damnation. Each track is a step further into the abyss—a confrontation with the ancient spirits of the land, the rot of broken faith, and the darkness we carry within ourselves. Revival beckons the listener to walk willingly into the night—and to rise, forever changed, from its ashes.

About THE NOCTAMBULANT:

In 2013, THE NOCTAMBULANT formed in Jacksonville, Florida, with a mission to spread the culture of Southern Appalachia through their unique interpretation of black metal. Merging the genre’s primal aggression with the crushing weight of blackened death metal and the haunting atmospherics of Southern Gothic, they sought to honor the myths, spirits, and eerie folklore of the region. Their music is a bridge between the past and present, conjuring the phantoms of forgotten legends and channeling them through a maelstrom of unrelenting sound.

Founded by E. Helvete (Guitars, Vocals) and D. Franseth (Drums) following the breakup of their psychobilly band, THE NOCTAMBULANT emerged as they delved into the darker realms of black metal. With the addition of Lars Goerschafft (Bass) and, later, Rev Beaumont (Guitar), the band fully embraced a sound that merges relentless intensity with ghostly Appalachian storytelling, crafting an auditory spell of sorrow, brutality, and mysticism.

The name for THE NOCTAMBULANT emerged from a fusion of Latin etymology, the influence of an IMMORTAL song, and a deep aspiration to craft folklore-inspired art that captures the mystique of Southern Gothic traditions. Their music weaves a sonic tapestry of feral blackened riffs, ominous melodies, and immersive soundscapes steeped in spectral Appalachian lore. Like echoes from a time when ghost stories were whispered by firelight and shadows danced along the ridges, THE NOCTAMBULANT conjures music that is both visceral and transcendental.

Drawing inspiration from metal legends such as VENOM, CELTIC FROST, BATHORY, and DARK FUNERAL, THE NOCTAMBULANT channels both ferocity and haunting atmosphere, merging the unrelenting force of extreme metal with the ghostly echoes of ancient myths and the desolation of the Southern Gothic landscape. Their sound is more than just an auditory onslaught—it is a ritualistic invocation of history’s shadows, brought to life through bone-chilling tremolo riffs, relentless blast beats, and vocals that wail like spirits through mist-covered valleys. Each composition is a hymn to the spectral wilderness, where melancholy intertwines with malice, and every note is etched with the weight of lost souls and lingering whispers.

Since their inception, THE NOCTAMBULANT has unleashed a series of sonically immersive releases, each expanding their vision of folklore-infused extremity. Their discography began with a trilogy of EPs that laid the foundation for their evolving sound: Dreams of Rotten Silence (2013), The Fear Leader (2014), and Hubris/Nemesis (2015). These early works showcased their ability to meld Appalachian mythos with the raw fury of extreme metal, creating a spectral, oppressive atmosphere that sets them apart from their contemporaries.

In 2016, THE NOCTAMBULANT released their debut full-length album, Advocatus Diaboli, a crushing testament to their ability to summon darkness through sound. Their sophomore effort, The Cold and Formless Deep (2019), delved even further into themes of decay, spectral folklore, and the bleak beauty of the Southern Gothic realm, solidifying their place in the extreme metal underground. Each track resonates like an ancient curse, drawing listeners deeper into their world of specters, sorrow, and savage intensity.

Further cementing their reputation for relentless creativity, THE NOCTAMBULANT unleashed the single “Hellrazor” in 2021, a blistering track that encapsulated their signature blend of blackened ferocity and haunting atmospherics. With razor-sharp riffing, guttural intensity, and an ominous undercurrent, “Hellrazor” stands as a testament to the band's evolution, pushing their sonic boundaries while staying true to their Appalachian ghost-story roots. The track served as both a standalone assault and a bridge to their future works, further defining their identity within the extreme metal landscape.

Their evolution continued beyond the studio, as THE NOCTAMBULANT embarked on a European tour with HATE and VADER, where they honed their identity. This experience not only sharpened their craft but also solidified their distinctive approach—one that leans more into folklore and haunting Appalachian storytelling than the traditional confines of stereotypical black metal. With every performance, they summon the essence of the shadowed woodlands and forgotten graves, offering a musical experience as immersive as it is harrowing.

As they continue to expand their sonic ritual, THE NOCTAMBULANT remains a force dedicated to channeling the myths, spirits, and dark history of the past into a living, breathing entity of sound and shadow—a relentless storm of spectral ferocity that refuses to fade into the void.

DATURA LODGE (US) - DATURA LODGE LP:

Formed in early 2026, the progressive rock duo DATURA LODGE produces a dynamic take on the genre, bringing in an array of styles to construct impactful soundscapes. Based out of Bergen County, New Jersey, USA, DATURA LODGE is preparing to release their debut self-titled album, Datura Lodge, on October 2, 2026, via ARQUEN Records.

DATURA LODGE evokes an eerie tension through the dark mood of their opening track, "Mummy". Lyrically, the track establishes themes of disillusionment and disassociation that run throughout the album. "Mummy" focuses on the hopelessness and despair of younger generations left to navigate the fall out of damage done by the greedy megalomaniacs before them. The song combines a dream-like quality with explosive moments of powerful guitars, bass, drums, and keys by Adam Holzman (MILES DAVIS, STEVEN WILSON).

A high-intensity rock offering, "Stone" unleashes fast-paced rhythms alongside melodic vocal harmonies. The track is enhanced with technical guitar solos and Ben Karas's (THANK YOU SCIENTIST) electrifying violin solo. DATURA LODGE reveals more of their character with the intentional 'clash' of playful lyrics against the minor key and heavier instrumentation.

"98 and 94" is for those of us who still remember the pre-internet world and the concerning rate of technological developments. Living through all of these changes, DATURA LODGE longs to remain 'human' in the AI age. The track's chorus is designed in the style of early 90s grunge with the duo's distinctive twist. "98 and 94" includes additional instrumental layers including acoustic guitar and 12-string electric and utilizes various phasers, wah, and chorus effects.

Listeners may recognize themselves in the self-deprecating honesty of “Them.” This track examines the juxtaposition of complying with modern-day office culture, while feeling out of place and drawn to a creative, introspective life. DATURA LODGE injects humor into the track with relatable lyrics, "But if I read one more LinkedIn post I’m gonna ram my giant head through the screen". We hear some of the band's main influences, drawing from acts such as RUSH.

DATURA LODGE shows their range of sound and material in this vulnerable track. “Floor” explores the challenge of growing up to find the people and places that served as anchors leave us behind to find our own path and identity. Inspired by works from GHOST, THE MOODY BLUES, and THE POLICE, we hear a longing for answers within 80s-esque synths and a catchy hook.

“Can” explodes into life, showcasing the thrashing speed of drummer Russell Holzman. Racing ahead with fast-riffs, “Can” provides a sonic experience that subverts expectation, flowing into dreamy prog with a serene piano break before diving into an energized guitar solo. Listeners can hear the fun the band had flexing their “musical muscles” while developing this one.

One of the most emotive tracks on Datura Lodge, "Hole" starts with a soft melancholy sound which progressively builds before reaching its height in the powerful final chorus. The song reflects on the self-sabotaging cycle of revisiting regrets that haunt you, only to result in more pain. The epic guitar solo evokes the emotion behind the lyrics.

The instrumental parts of "Beam" were built upon with slap bass leading to a distinctive and vibrant sound. The lyrics of "Beam" look back at a personal period of transition and pain for Nicky B, cloaked in a self-deprecating humor that feels familiar.

Bright guitar leads entwine around the melodic vocals in “Lodge”. Darker moments in the arrangement hint at something shadowy beneath the surface. Filled with charismatic vocal harmonies and memorable hooks, “Lodge” compels listeners with the lyrics "you are not alone". Before long, the dreamy atmosphere is shattered. The track draws the album to a close with honest vulnerability wrapped in 70’s prog inspirations.

Datura Lodge was produced by DATURA LODGE and Ben Karas. Tracks 1-5 were recorded at Frightbox Recording in Passaic, NJ, while tracks 6-9 were recorded at Frost Gauntlet Recording in Lyndhurst, NJ, all with engineer Ben Karas who mixed the album. The release was mastered by Andy VanDette at Evolve Mastering. The cover artwork for Datura Lodge was created by Samantha Feyerabend-Muljat.

Across the album DATURA LODGE are joined by Adam Holzman on keyboards, Russell Holzman performing drums, with Ben Karas lending violin to "Stone".

About DATURA LODGE:

DATURA LODGE is the latest musical endeavor from Nicky B and “W". Based out of Bergen County, New Jersey, USA, the duo has been performing music together since their early teens. From taking to stages locally in cover bands to releasing a video performing “Starless” by KING CRIMSON with John Wetton that amassed over 350,000 views on YouTube, the duo brings an array of experiences into their new project.

Musical inspiration is primarily drawn from legendary progressive rock acts including GENESIS, KING CRIMSON, THE MARS VOLTA, and RUSH. DATURA LODGE strives to inject approachability into their sound while delivering hard-hitting hooks. Taking a bold creative direction, the band incorporates unexpected twists and turns across their tracks.
