Guten Tag, Meine Freunds! (Ich kann kein Deutsch sprechen, actually - German just sounds really cool to me).
I’m taking the time to do things a little differently with regards to our podcast episodes’ Show Notes, this time. Might be a little strange having this come out prior to the Episode itself, but that’s nearing finishing production and publication (FINALLY!).
Firstly, on my end - being ADHD, this is actually only the second-ever ISC podcase episode where I’ve sat and worked through the audio/video production process without the added cognitive benefit of stimulant medication. Those benefits extend to everything from planning, perseveration, working-memory and a host of other behaviours/functions that I am truly feeling the mental pinch being without, currently. Working on anything ISC-related is brutally hard, presently, and requires building in a lot more small-scale steps, breaks and recovery.
Due to my finances being past terminal and into palliative (and chronically so, until I’m well enough to re-enter employment in any measure), I’m foreseeing a good couple of months minimum until I’m funded enough to access my prescribing doctor and his bag of pharmacological almost-functioning-normally tricks. I deign NOT complain about that, with access to either of those things or even diagnosis being such a barrier for so many Australians and indeed folks worldwide.
Suffice to say - I’m not at one-hundred percent capacity/functioning, and everything here’s taking magnitudes longer to complete than in recent history. Nothing can be done about that without risking some serious and severe physical/mental consequences for myself, and creating content (as I learn through some BRUTAL lessons, recently) is all about consistency and sustainability over overcompensation, exhaustion and burnout.
As a situational result, I’m finding audio production particularly grueling and rough, same with video editing. I think you’ve got to be a YouTuber, podcaster or similar to know exactly how many incremental, additive administrative steps and tasks are actually involved with getting an episode, longer-form video etc online. I truly do salute those of you out there doing it as a primary source of income - it’s a LOT harder than face-value would make it seem. Heck, similar analogies can readily be made to the life of a musician versus what we cop onstage and on-stream/disc/record, right?
That’s a chat for another time, perhaps. One of us might even [Riff] on that. It’s certainly a throughline of almost every interviewee we’ve had on the show!
Whilst we both know you’re ultimately here for music, I thought it good to contextualise being a bit out-of-order. Follow along with our various platforms and links, and I should have the Episode proper out by today/tomorrow at the latest.
Until then - enjoy yourself some Estonian progressive death-metal (SURGENT), industrial black metal (OMNIKOLOSS), doomy post-metal (TORII) and even some brutal death from our neck of the woods via Aussies DELIQUESCE!
A huge thank-you to our affiliates in Clawhammer PR, Viral Propaganda PR, The Gatekeeper PR, C-Squared Music, Cutting Edge Promotion and Nuclear Blast Records. Both for bringing us todays’ Featured Artists, their fantastic upcoming LP/EP releases, and all the info, media sneak-peeks and more.
Finally - as I’ve often parroted prior: supporting the global music industry starts in your own backyard. Support your local scene, however you’re able.
As Always,
Peace, Love and Grindcore - Brady (ISC Podcast/Patreon).
I: SURGENT (Tallin/Tartu, Estonia) To Release New Album Sin Eater Nov 5th, 2026 (via Independent Release):
Progressive death metal band SURGENT are set to release the new album SIN EATER. An exploration in brutality with a progressive foundation, the recent video for single ‘DISMANTLE/REPLACE’ captures the savage, raw power they wield with surgical precision that showcases the album’s vicious tendencies.
Official Video for Featured Track ‘DISMANTLE/REPLACE’, via Surgent on Youtube:
Surgent, formed in the Tallinn and Tartu regions of Estonia in 2017 by former Horricane members Jaan Varts and Jüri Tarkpea, released their self-titled debut album in 2022. The following year, the debut was named Estonian Metal Album of the Year. On the live circuit, the band has supported such legends as Decapitated and Bloodred Hourglass. ‘SIN EATER’ is their first album with vocalist Mathias-Erik Tempel and drummer Simo Atso.
‘SIN EATER’ is heavy, complex and unafraid to challenge listeners with plenty of sharp turns, but as the bands sophomore release it’s also faster, more focused and more cohesive. Concerning the new approach, the band says “On the debut we tried to cram every weird idea we had into one album. This album is more straightforward, yet it sounds unmistakably like us.”
II: OMNIKOLOSS (Trier, Germany) To Release Quantum Fleshdrive LP on 4th Dec, 2026 via Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork:
In Quantum Fleshdrive, the line between the human body and technology keeps disappearing until neither can fully be separated from the other. With black metal at its core, OMNIKOLOSS delves further into electronic music, analogue synthesis, ambient and industrial sounds in the third studio album Quantum Fleshdrive. Across the track list, acoustic drums and guitars collide with programmed beats, field recordings and layers of synthesizers including the Moog Sub 37, Korg MS-20, Polysix, Minimoog and Juno-60. Quantum Fleshdrive will arrive on December 4, 2026, via Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork.
The world behind the album takes its influence from body horror, cyberpunk and dark science fiction such as Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Akira and Blade Runner. Flesh and technology are no longer opposites. Machines move into the body, voices enter the mind, reality becomes unstable and the distinction between human and artificial slowly disappears.
Quantum Fleshdrive opens with the ferocious intensity of "Omnisyndrom Alpha 17," a track which questions if humans can fully comprehend their own autonomy, or lack of it, amidst both physical and intangible systems of oppression. The arrangement is formed of furious blast beats, an electronic march built around a sample from Tetsuo: The Iron Man, and expressive extreme vocal performances against an ambient backdrop. The track contains field recordings made around small lakes and moors including frogs and the surrounding night sounds. Narratively, "Omnisyndrom Alpha 17" follows two nameless humans, "Human one is imprisoned by material reality; Human two is imprisoned by perception."
"Invisible Eruptions" is sonically driven by programmed rhythms and dominated by repetitive electronic patterns and industrial influences. Guitars are used sparingly, only where needed to inject a touch of metal instrumentation or push the structure forward. The track's concept is built around the idea of "A temporary rupture in reality." Removed from the outside world, time and space "becomes a synthetic heaven built from overstimulation and collapse. But this heaven is unstable."
On "Splitmind," "two voices represent a human consciousness and an implanted voice fighting for control before the track collapses into a strange, Dadaistic electronic ending." The song's arrangement begins situated in metal before slowly unravelling into a synth-led cacophony. "What begins as a story about hiding from machines ultimately becomes a story about losing the last private space a human being possesses: the certainty that one's own thoughts still belong to oneself."
"Nectere" sees black metal and death metal collide in two explosive minutes of inescapable intensity. Thematically, the track is about a spiraling system of corporate greed and endless content, where anything can become a commodity and everything is available at one's fingertips. "The world does not end in fire and chaos. It ends smiling, brightly lit and perfectly marketed. And while everything falls apart, the system continues to function exactly as intended."
Slow and heavy, "Liquid Dreams" is more psychedelic in style. Synthesizers are central to the sound and organ layers add texture, meanwhile guitars and percussion emphasize the relentless heavy pull of the song's momentum. "Liquid Dreams" presents the notion of a drug that can lessen the effects of fear, regret and despair creating "a strange form of freedom. The human being is not necessarily trying to escape the world, but the immediate proximity of the self."
"Artificial End" closes the album with synthesizers built around chiptune sounds, Serum and the Korg Polysix. Eerie vocals call out from the void, alternating between human, monster and machine. Absent of metal instruments, the discordant atmosphere evokes a sense of falling endlessly. "The real prison is not living inside a controlled city, but realizing that the system has learned to continue existing inside your own consciousness."
Quantum Fleshdrive was produced and mixed by David Feistel at Cave Sustain, and mastered by Markus Stock at Klangschmiede Studio E. Cover artwork by Karmazid, with additional layout by Johnny Doe.
Quantum Fleshdrive will be released on 12-inch vinyl: 150 x Hypnotoad Green; 100 x Fleshdrive Red. The limited edition consists of 20 special sets with Fleshdrive Red vinyl, an exclusive DIY cassette and an OMNIKOLOSS pin.
About OMNIKOLOSS:
With black metal as their foundation, the band began in 2020 with an intense writing session between Tobias Norbinski (DER ROTE MILAN) and David Feistel (STELLAR MASTER ELITE). SURVIOLENCE (CAPTAIN CAVEMEN) joined shortly after, and these initial compositions laid the groundwork for what would become OMNIKOLOSS. The addition of vocalist Khonan completed the line up and the band's focus on creating an extreme sound that is unafraid to venture further into experimental and atmospheric realms.
Electronic music, ambient, synthwave, industrial, analogue synthesis and soundtrack influences became a key component for OMNIKOLOSS. Atmosphere and thematic concepts behind the music are just as important as traditional song structures in their writing.
OMNIKOLOSS released Wandering Through Concrete Valleys through Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork in 2023, selling out its vinyl edition. コンクリートの谷を彷徨って II released as one 26:53 composition in 2025, also via Unholy Conspiracy Deathwork, alongside a handcrafted VHS box which sold out shortly after its launch. Now in 2026, OMNIKOLOSS prepare to unveil their third sonic offering.
Quantum Fleshdrive goes somewhere else.
Technology is no longer just part of the environment.
It has entered the body.
The music itself was created through the same process OMNIKOLOSS has followed from the beginning. Recordings sit next to spontaneous performances, deliberately written passages, electronic manipulation and acoustic material. Where something was recorded matters much less than what happens when these elements are put together.
Quantum Fleshdrive is not an attempt to make Black Metal sound futuristic.
It comes from a place where the distinction no longer matters.
OMNIKOLOSS Is:
Surviolence - Drums / electronic beats / additional vocals
David Feistel - Bass, synthesizers, additional guitars, sampling, production
Khonan - Vocals

IV: Aussie Brutal Death-Metallers DELIQUESCE (AUS) To Release New LP (dis)harmony On 24th Nov, 2026 (via Vicious Instinct Records):
Barely a year after Saviour / Enslaver, Melbourne brutal death metal four-piece Deliquesce are already back with a crushing new effort.
On November 24, 2026, the Australian band will release their new EP, (dis)harmony, via Vicious Instinct Records, pushing their violently technical yet groove-driven take on death metal into increasingly twisted territory.
Formed in Melbourne in 2019, Deliquesce have steadily built a cult following within the extreme metal underground by challenging the conventions of the death metal genre.
From Engineered Frailty and Cursed With Malevolence through to 2025’s Saviour / Enslaver, each release has sharpened a sound capable of moving from technical precision and suffocating heaviness to massive grooves and genuinely mosh-inducing hooks. (dis)harmony takes that approach even further.
Drawing from a broad spectrum of extreme music, the new material captures Deliquesce at their most aggressive, twisted and groove-heavy to date. Complexity is never there simply for show: underneath the technical violence are riffs and rhythmic shifts built to hit with immediate physical force.
(dis)harmony was produced by Adrian Cappelletti and Deliquesce, recorded and mixed by Cappelletti, and mastered by Ayden Perry at Q4 Mastering. With their most aggressive, twisted and groove-heavy material yet, Deliquesce continue to carve out an increasingly distinctive place within the Australian extreme metal underground.
Deliquesce will release (dis)harmony on November 24, 2026 via Vicious Instinct Records.
